Oklahoma State Offers Four-Star EDGE From Alabama

Can Oklahoma State land CJ May despite hefty offers from premier programs?

On Wednesday, February 28th, Oklahoma State extended an offer to four-star edge rusher CJ May. May is rated as the 259th overall player in the 2025 class by the 247 Sports Composite (#20 EDGE).

May comes from Highland Home High School in Alabama, and he stands at 6-4, 215 pounds. He currently holds offers from Clemson, Georgia, Penn State, and many more Power Four schools.

The Highland Home product was originally committed to Notre Dame, but decommitted on February 4th, not long after he took an unofficial visit to Auburn. He finished his Junior campaign with 54 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and 29 QB hurries. He also had an interception.

It is still very early in the cycle, so I don't expect a decision to be made any time soon. Still, if Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State were to land the lengthy edge rusher, it would bolster the defensive line in a big way.

As of now, WR/DB Matrail Lopez is the only member of OSU's 2025 class. Still, Oklahoma State recruiting is heading in the right direction, and they are beginning to compete for more blue-chip talent such as Chad Woodfork. In the new era of the Big 12 -- which is seeing Oklahoma and Texas depart for the SEC -- the Cowboys have an opportunity to consistently compete at the top of the conference. The additions of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State will make this a tad more difficult, but winning the recruiting scene and bringing in big-time talents to develop will be important as the Cowboys could potentially be a perennial playoff team with the new format.
