Before the BYU game, talented WR De'zhaun Stribling informed Nathan Shell of O'Colly that he would return to Oklahoma State next season. Stribling transferred to Oklahoma State before this season from Washington State. He was considered one of the top wideouts that had entered the portal and was given a four-star transfer portal rating on 247 Sports.

Stribling left Washington State to look for new opportunities after falling short of expectations during his sophomore campaign. Still, he showed flashes of greatness while in Pullman, and has all the tools to be a weapon in Stillwater. Stribling stands in at 6-3, 203-pounds, an imposing frame that allows him to be extremely physical at the catch point. He was listed as a three-star recruit out of high school hailing from Kapolei, HI.

Stribling was given the starting job to start the season, but he sustained a season-ending hand injury in practice early in the year limiting his playing time. When he was on the field he was able to make an impact. Through the first four games, one of which he missed the majority of due to a concussion, he recorded 198 yards and a touchdown on 14 catches. He was on pace for nearly 600 receiving yards before the injury.

What Does De'Zhaun Stribling's Return Mean for The Pokes?

De'Zhaun Stribling's return is a big one for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys currently only have one wide receiver committed in the 2024 class, so Mike Gundy and company will need all the bodies they can get whether it is through retaining those on the roster or bringing in a heap of transfers. Stribling will be given plenty of opportunities to shine next season, so expect him to have a big year.
