Stillwater is returning the best college football running back. Ollie Gordon received his Doak Walker award this past week after posting 1,732 rushing yards for Oklahoma State this past season. In doing so, he had the opportunity to open up about the crazy world that is the college football transfer portal.

While the running back didn't ever officially enter the transfer portal, he could have received some crazy high bids from some prominent programs. Instead, he chose loyalty at Oklahoma State in a program that will highlight his talents.

So, why did Gordon opt to remain with the Cowboys?

"It's a great program, great coaching staff," Gordon said. "They make me feel like I'm at home. I didn't want to leave."

Since announcing his return, Gordon has made plenty of appearances across many different sports. Most recently, he was attending Bedlam wrestling as the No. 2 Cowboys dominated the No. 25 Oklahoma Sooners.

"Your phone is blowing up [with offers from other schools]. But you don't really want to look at it and get too far into it because that's when you start overthinking things. I really just overlooked that and didn't really pay it attention," Gordon continued.

For Oklahoma State, it's got to be comforting that Gordon never once considered leaving the program. The 6-foot-1 running back posted the best season of any running back across the nation, and he could have likely attended the school of his choice out of the transfer portal.

On Gordon's side of things, he remains in a situation that could allow him to compete for a Heisman trophy win. The coaching staff trusts him and understands how to use him. Everything is going to be built in favor and around Gordon for next season, so, evidently, returning might have made the most sense for him as he continues to put together an incredible college football career.
