Three-Star Defensive Back Includes Oklahoma State in Top Five Schools

Could the McKinney, TX, product make his way to Stillwater to play football at the next level?

Could Oklahoma State soon land its next big football recruit? Mike Gundy and his staff have begun to get busy on the recruiting trail despite being in the thick of spring ball. So far, the Cowboys have four members of their 2025 recruiting class, with two commitments coming within this past week.

This week, three-star defensive back Zadian Gentry announced his top five programs, which happened to include Oklahoma State. The other programs involved are Missouri, Wisconsin, SMU and Baylor.

While Missouri could be a big suitor to land the McKinney, TX, product, Wisconsin and SMU are the other two teams making a big push and impression on the three-star talent.

“Wisconsin, they’re up there pretty high with Missouri and SMU,” Gentry told On3. “SMU is talking to me all the time. With Wisconsin, it’s constant communication. When I went up to Missouri, it felt great and I’ve been keeping in contact with the coaches.”

While those three schools are atop his list, Oklahoma State could provide exactly what Gentry is looking for in a program, though.

“It’s going to come down to development because I want to get developed and go to the league badly,” Gentry said. “If I get a coach that’s going to have the right development for me, the sky’s the limit.”

If any program is going to take a player ranked No. 420 nationally and No. 65 in his state, according to 247Sports, it might just be Oklahoma State. The No. 54-ranked cornerback is making a trip to Stillwater for an official visit on April 26, and he's visited just once before, watching Bedlam in person.
