Andrew Fischer Among D1Baseball’s Top 2025 MLB Draft Prospects
Andrew Fischer was certainly a big addition to the Rebels lineup once he announced he had committed to Ole Miss out of the transfer portal.
Now, the hype is real as he was named the top third base MLB Draft prospect by D1Baseball on Wednesday.
Fischer was a Perfect Game All-American in his freshman year at Duke and the sixth player in Duke history to be named to the All-ACC freshman team. Duke had an excellent team last year, and Fischer was a major contributor during the 2023 run, hitting for a .289 average with 12 doubles and 11 homers last year for the Blue Devils.
If he remains healthy, Fischer should be the everyday third baseman and hit in the middle of the order for Ole Miss. He should be a stand-out player this year for the Rebels, and if the hype from D1Baseball.com is any indication, fans could be in store for a memorable season from the man at the hot corner.
The Rebels will begin their 2024 season on Friday when they face the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in Honolulu. First pitch is slated for 10:35 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on ESPN+.
