'Bigger Than Us!' Coach Yo Thanks Fans For Involvement in Win vs. Mississippi State

The Ole Miss Rebels claimed an overtime win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.

The Ole Miss Rebels have won back-to-back games on the hardwood, and both of those wins have needed time past regulation.

The latest installment came in a 75-71 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs at the SJB Pavilion in Oxford on Sunday. The Rebels trailed by eight points with just over five minutes to play, but they rallied to force overtime and, eventually, the win.

Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin addressed the Ole Miss fans in attendance after the win, crediting them with the atmosphere that helped fuel the comeback.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you all came out and willed us to this win," McPhee-McCuin said. "Today is bigger than us. It's about bringing awareness to breast cancer, and this is an important time of the season for us. To our alumni, we hope to make you all proud every single day that we step out on the floor."

The Rebels had four players reach double digits on Sunday, led by Madison Scott with 20 points. She was also responsible for the game-tying layup with three seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Ole Miss was able to claim its first lead of overtime on a free throw from Tyia Singleton with 1:44 remaining, and that slim advantage was never relinquished down the stretch. Her layup and ensuing free throw on that play marked her only three points of the day.

With the win, Ole Miss improves to 18-7 overall on the season with an 8-4 mark in conference play, and it will remain at home for its next contest against the Georgia Bulldogs on Thursday. The Rebels last faced Georgia on Jan. 21 and came away with a 69-59 win in Athens.

Tip-off on Thursday is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on SEC Network+.
