OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball team started the month of February off with another Southeastern Conference victory, as it beat the Vanderbilt Commodores 66-61 on Thursday night. The big win for the Rebels pushed them to No. 2 in the SEC standings with a 16-5 record (6-2 SEC), and it also extended their current winning streak to four games.

Ole Miss coach Yollett McPhee-McCuin knew this game was going to be a challenge, as Vandy won four of its seven conference matchups in January. Coach Yo talked about her team's valiant win over the Commodores during the postgame press conference.

"Incredible win for us," McPhee-McCuin told reporters. "On the road against a [Vanderbilt] team that's red hot. A team that I expect to be in the NCAA Tournament, and a team that has a higher NET [rating] than us. Just really feeling grateful to be able to come out and get this win tonight."

This marked the third-straight 20-point performance from guard Marquesha Davis, who recorded 25 points versus Vanderbilt, and McPhee-McCuin praised her senior's effort postgame.

"[Davis] is our most athletic player on the team," McPhee-McCuin said. "She's just focused. She is playing like someone that is on their last leg in college, and I'm super proud of her. I know if she continues to be consistent, good things will come her way. Que is very quiet, doesn't say much, and she wants to win. I love seeing her play at a high level of basketball."

Coach Yo and her Rebels are now set to hit the road again to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in Colonial Life Arena on Sunday. This will be Ole Miss' toughest challenge so far this season, as the Gamecocks are the No. 1 team in the SEC with a perfect 20-0 record (8-0 SEC). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
