'Awesome Opportunity!' Ole Miss Rebels Coach Lane Kiffin Raves On Peach Bowl Matchup vs. Penn State

Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin raved on Tuesday about the Penn State Nittany Lions and the opportunity that awaits his team in the Peach Bowl.

The No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels are preparing to take on the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 30, and with some practices under their belt, things are getting real for Lane Kiffin and his team.

Kiffin was made available to the media on Tuesday as Ole Miss officially accepted the Peach Bowl bid from CEO and president Gary Stokan, and he discussed the monumental opportunity that awaits his team as it enters another New Year's Six bowl game against a powerful brand like that of Penn State.

"This is an awesome opportunity," Kiffin said. "To be around our players and have some practices now that we know we're playing in this, our guys are so excited to be in this big of a bowl against such a historic team to play in Penn State in a great city in Atlanta."

This will be Kiffin's second New Year's Six bowl to reach with the Rebels since he arrived in Oxford for the 2020 season. This is also Ole Miss' fourth NY6 appearance since the term was coined in 2014.

Since that season, the Rebels have appeared in the Sugar Bowl twice (2015, 2021) and the Peach Bowl twice (2014, 2023).

Ole Miss has already made school history this year by reaching 10 regular season wins for the second time in program history, the first of which also came under Kiffin in 2021. Now, the Rebels have their eyes set on their first-ever 11-win season in school history, should they come away with a win in the Peach Bowl later this month.

Kickoff from Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Dec. 30 between Ole Miss and Penn State is set for 11 a.m. CT, and the game will be televised on ESPN.
