Greg McElroy Names Rebels Rivalry Game Among Top Tailgating Experiences in College Football

The college football analyst is a fan of when the Rebels fan base meets with one of their rivals on the tailgating scene.

The Ole Miss Rebels are often known as having one of the top tailgating locations in college football, but are there particular games that make for a better atmosphere in The Grove each season?

Recently, college football analyst Greg McElroy discussed his five best tailgating matchups in the sport, and, unsurprisingly, an Ole Miss rivalry game made the list, specifically the Magnolia Bowl against the LSU Tigers.

"LSU-Ole Miss is always going to be top 10," McElroy said. "It doesn’t matter what the circumstances are. "That one is always going to be top 10. You get those two teams together, you get those two teams playing against each other … the fan bases are very different and yet very similar all at the same time."

The annual meeting between the Rebels and Tigers has provided some exciting action on the field through the years, but for McElroy, the uniting of these fan bases in Oxford or Baton Rouge makes for some strong tailgating atmospheres.

The Grove Report recently completed its preseason preview of the Rebels' matchup with LSU in 2023, and Ole Miss will look to bounce back from an embarrassing loss suffered in Baton Rouge last season.
