Kickoff Time, TV Channel Set For 2023 Egg Bowl Between Ole Miss and Mississippi State

The Rebels and Bulldogs will continue their run of playing on Thanksgiving Day this season.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The kickoff day, time and television station for the 2023 Egg Bowl was announced on Thursday, with the Ole Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs set to play their annual rivalry game on Thanksgiving Day once again.

The game will again be aired on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. CT with this year's installment coming in Starkville, Miss. The Rebels made an announcement about the kickoff time on Thursday morning.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State (known originally as "Mississippi A&M") began their football series in 1901 and have a total of 119 meetings on the gridiron. The Rebels have a sizable lead in the all-time series with a mark of 64-46-6, but the Bulldogs returned to the win column last season for the first time since Lane Kiffin became the Ole Miss head coach.

Kiffin himself is now 2-1 in the annual rivalry game, and he will face off against new Bulldogs head coach Zach Arnett in 2023 after the passing of Mike Leach this offseason. This will mark the 24th meeting all-time between the two schools on Thanksgiving Day, and it will continue the tradition of battling for the Golden Egg Trophy, an honor that began in 1927.
