No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels Cruise Past Vanderbilt Commodores in 'Khaki Bowl'

The Ole Miss Rebels dominated the visiting Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday night.

OXFORD, Miss. -- Lane Kiffin may not be 100-percent pleased, but the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels met little resistance in Saturday night's dominating win over the Vanderbilt Commodores, coming away with a 33-7 win at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

The Rebels (7-1, 4-1 SEC) scored early and often in the first half, holding a 26-0 lead at the intermission, but the offense seemed to hit a lull late in the second quarter and throughout the third quarter, and the lead shrunk to 26-7 entering the final period.

A Quinshon Judkins rushing touchdown, his second of the night, pushed the advantage to 33-7, however, and that paved the way for the backups to enter the game partway through the last frame.

Before giving way to the second string, quarterback Jaxson Dart put up a stat line of 19-of-28 through the air for 248 yards, one score and one interception. He also accounted for a rushing score in the first half.

His favorite target on the night was wide receiver Dayton Wade who finished the game with eight catches for 120 yards and a score, and Judkins surpassed the century-mark on the ground in the first half, finishing the day with 124 yards rushing.

The Rebels are now winners of four straight games dating back to the thrilling win over the LSU Tigers, and three of those wins came by just one score. Ole Miss now will prepare for a large showdown in the SEC West when it welcomes the Texas A&M Aggies to Oxford next Saturday.

That game is scheduled for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff, and it will be televised on ESPN.
