Ole Miss Lands Signature From Transfer WR Deion Smith on Early Signing Day

The Ole Miss Rebels have secured the signature of transfer wide receiver Deion Smith on Early Signing Day.

The Ole Miss Rebels secured the NLI from transfer wide receiver Deion Smith on Wednesday, firmly planting another huge talent in that room on offense.

Ole Miss was in on Smith during his high school recruitment days, but he eventually signed with the LSU Tigers before transferring to Holmes (Miss.) Community College for this season. Out of high school, he was a four-star prospect according to On3, and he was listed as the No. 12 wide receiver nationally and the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi in his prep class.

In eight games with the Holmes Bulldogs in 2023, Smith accumulated over 1,000 receiving yards and 12 scores, averaging 132.9 receiving yards per game. He spent his high school years in Mississippi, suiting up for Provine High School and Jackson Academy.

Smith will be joining the likes of Jordan Watkins and Tre Harris in an already-stout Rebels receiver room, and if quarterback Jaxson Dart returns for another year of college eligibility, the Ole Miss passing attack could be lethal with his contribution in 2024.
