Ole Miss Rebels Reveal Date, Kickoff Time For 2024 Grove Bowl
OXFORD, Miss. -- Spring practices are starting on Wednesday for the Ole Miss Rebels which means it is almost time for their spring football game, the Grove Bowl. Ole Miss Football revealed the date and kickoff time for the 2024 Grove Bowl on Tuesday, and the exhibition is set to be held on Saturday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. CT in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
If this year's Grove Bowl is anything like the one from 2023, Ole Miss fans are in for a real treat this spring. Last year, the Rebels scored over 100 combined points as the team was in the middle of a three-way quarterback competition between Jaxson Dart, Spencer Sanders, and Walker Howard.
Ole Miss' explosive offense was on full display, as all three quarterbacks aired it out and registered more than 400 receiving yards for both the red and blue teams.
This year's rendition of the Grove Bowl is shaping up to be just as electric, as Lane Kiffin and his staff successfully recruited the No. 3 transfer portal class in the country this offseason, and were recently named the fourth best team in the Southeastern Conference entering spring practices.
While there will not be a quarterback competition this go around, it will be fun to watch senior Jaxson Dart sling the rock for a few drives before Walker Howard and Austin Simmons compete for the backup role. Howard is the obvious candidate to take over at No. 2 on the depth chart, but Simmons will be the real spectacle, as the true freshman arrived too late to participate in the spring game last year.
