What's One Question To Ask Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin?

The Lane Train has come to Oxford and is blazing down the railroad tracks.

In his three seasons at the helm, though he's won one, he has led the Ole Miss Rebels to three-consecutive bowl game appearances, something that hasn't happened since 1998-2000 since the 2013 BBVA Compass Bowl victory against Pittsburgh was vacated.

However, one question that The Athletic's Brody Miller would ask Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin if he had to answer with 100 percent honesty: do you think you can reach your goals at Ole Miss?

"Kiffin has made comments often about the limitations of Ole Miss," Miller wrote. "Granted, he has stayed despite pursuits from major programs, but how much has he actually considered those jobs like Auburn or Miami? Is he going to jump at the chance to join a school with a better chance of winning a national title, or does he want to build that at Ole Miss?"

It's a fair point considering when this season is over, it will be his longest head coaching tenure at the collegiate level. Kiffin coached one season at Tennessee, three and a half at USC being fired after five games in 2013 and three seasons at Florida Atlantic.

Kiffin turned around a program that went 25-31, when accounting for 2016's five vacated wins, in the five seasons prior to his arrival. In three seasons, he is 23-13 and finished second in the West Division of the Southeastern Conference in 2021.

The Bloomington, Minn., native's innovative offensive scheme has brought explosiveness to the Rebels' offense that has finished in the top eight in total offense the past three seasons.

With one of the best running backs in the country returning for his sophomore season and likely Jaxson Dart's second season as the starter in Kiffin's system, look for the offense to replicate that top-10 pedigree in 2023.
