You may have seen Knox Kiffin during Ole Miss Rebels games coached by his dad Lane, but that's not why his name is in the news on Tuesday.

Knox, a 2028 quarterback prospect, participated with the Mojo 7v7 team in Tupelo, Miss., on Saturday, turning some heads in the process. Now, he has received his first collegiate offer...but it did not come from his dad or an SEC program.

It was, however, from within the state of Mississippi.

The Division II Mississippi College Choctaws extended an offer to Knox Kiffin this week, kicking off what looks to be an interesting recruiting period for the middle schooler over the next few years. Knox made the announcement on social media on Tuesday, a post you can view here.

The offer also drew the attention of the son of another Ole Miss coach, Kevin Smith Jr. The young Smith quoted Knox's post in jubilation after the announcement, stating, "Stay grounded, let's gooo!!"

It will be a while before Knox Kiffin suits up at the collegiate level, but he will enter those ranks having been surrounded by college football his entire life. That should certainly give him a leg up in understanding the speed and mechanics of the game when the time comes.
