OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels are one of the few teams in the Southeastern Conference who had to face both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs during the 2023 regular season, which gives Lane Kiffin an interesting perspective on the SEC Championship Game between the two heavyweights.

Ole Miss battled Alabama in Week 4, losing to the Tide 24-10, and got blown out 52-17 by Georiga on the road in Week 11.

Kiffin was asked to comment on the upcoming conference championship matchup during the SEC’s final teleconference of the season on Wednesday.

“Like I said right after the game, every game’s independent of each other," Kiffin told reporters on Wednesday. "The days we played them, Georgia, I think everybody would say, was better. But again that was a long time ago we played Alabama and they were still figuring out their quarterback and so I think Alabama seems to be, from what I’ve seen, playing pretty dominant lately as well.”

This will be Georgia's third straight SEC title game, as the Bulldogs previously defeated the LSU Tigers a season ago, and beat Alabama in 2021. Georgia would go on to win the national championship game in both years.

Georgia remains undefeated this season, but Alabama looks like it could upset the Dawgs, as the Tide have found their solution at quarterback in Jalen Milroe.

In Alabama's Week 11 win over the Kentucky Wildcats, Milroe scored all six of the Tide's touchdowns - three through the air and three on the ground.

In 10 games, the sophomore has recorded 2,070 passing yards and 16 touchdowns, while rushing for 653 yards and 12 touchdowns.
