OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels senior tight end Caden Prieskorn revealed Sunday night that he will be returning to Oxford for his fifth and final year of eligibility in 2024. The former Memphis Tigers transfer broke the news via social media with a graphic that reads "Coming Back."

The Lake Orion, Mich., native was the fourth leading receiver on the Ole Miss offense this season despite only appearing in nine games due to an early injury. In his first season as a Rebel, Prieskorn hauled in 20 receptions for 313 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 15.7 yards per catch.

Prieskorn's fourth season got off to a slow start due to the aforementioned injuries, but he finished his 2023 campaign with his two best performances. Against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, the senior corralled a season-best six catches for 69 yards and one touchdown. In the Egg Bowl, Prieskorn caught Jaxson Dart's lone touchdown pass and totaled four receptions for 38 yards.

Prieskorn is the third Ole Miss senior to announce his return for the 2024-25 season so far, joining receiver Jordan Watkins and defensive lineman JJ Pegues - all former transfers.

Every senior Ole Miss receiver/tight end has now made a decision regarding his football future except for Tre Harris, the team's leading wideout from 2023.

Prieskorn's return makes him a lock to play in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 30 against the Penn State Nittany Lions, giving the Rebels a greater edge versus a defense that is losing talent early to the 2024 NFL Draft.

Kickoff between Ole Miss and Penn State is set for 11 a.m. CT at Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and the game will be televised on ESPN.
