Rebels Open As Slight Betting Favorite Over Tulane

The Ole Miss Rebels are 1-0 against the spread this season and open as an early favorite against the Tulane Green Wave.

The No. 22 Ole Miss Rebels flexed their offensive prowess this weekend, and the sportsbooks took notice.

Ole Miss opened as a four-point betting favorite over the No. 24 Tulane Green Wave for Saturday's contest at 2:30 p.m. CT, according to CircaSports. The total has been set at 65.5 points, which is tied for the third-highest over/under in Week 2.

Both the Rebels and Green Wave came away with Week 1 wins and are both 1-0 against the spread, as Ole Miss took care of Mercer 73-7 and Tulane defeated South Alabama 37-17. The Rebels covered their 35-point spread, while the Green Wave were only six-point favorites against the Jaguars.

Ole Miss and Mercer cleared the over by just 20 points with the Rebels scoring on 10 of its 12 offensive drives with wide receiver Jordan Watkins' 70-yard punt return touchdown sprinkled in for good measure.

Tulane kicker Valentino Ambrosio booted through a chip-shot 27-yard field goal with 4:48 to go in the fourth quarter to hit the over 51 total.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart helped lead the way in the Rebels' single-game team passing program record with 334 yards and four scores — all of which went to transfer wide receiver Tre Harris, who set the program's single-game receiving touchdowns.

Green Wave quarterback Michael Pratt followed up his Cotton Bowl victory over USC with a near perfect performance. Pratt completed a career-high 93.3 percent of his 15 pass attempts for 294 yards and four touchdowns, which tied his personal best mark.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
