Rebels Tight End Casey Kelly Enters Transfer Portal

The younger brother of former Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly is looking for a new football home.

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels tight end Casey Kelly is set to enter the transfer portal, reports indicated on Wednesday. On3 was the first to report the move on Wednesday evening.

Kelly, a native of Niagara Falls, N.Y., is the younger brother of former Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly. He has spent his last four seasons at Ole Miss, but with the addition of transfers Michael Trigg and Caden Prieskorn over the last two seasons, the tight end room in Oxford has suddenly become crowded.

Over his Rebel career, Kelly hauled in 28 receptions for 282 yards and three touchdowns. His strongest season came in 2021 when he had 17 catches for 150 yards and a touchdown.

When Chad Kelly suited up for the Rebels, he secured the school record for most consecutive games with a passing touchdown (22). His 12 career games with over 300 passing yards also set a school record.

The elder Kelly played for Ole Miss in the 2015 and 2016 seasons, leading the Rebels to a win in the Allstate Sugar Bowl in his first season, finishing with a 10-3 record during the pinnacle of the Hugh Freeze era in Oxford.
