'Typical Saturday!' Lane Kiffin Praises Ole Miss For Dominating Weekend in Baseball, Basketball

The Ole Miss Rebels saw success in both basketball and baseball over the weekend...and it drew the eye of the head football coach.

Needless to say, this weekend was a good one on the campus of the University of Mississippi.

The Ole Miss Rebels won a baseball series over the Iowa Hawkeyes, a men's basketball game over the Missouri Tigers and a women's basketball game over the Arkansas Razorbacks. Two of these victories (baseball and men's basketball) came on Saturday, and that drew the attention of the ever-watchful Lane Kiffin.

On Sunday, Kiffin quoted a post on X (where he is often found with opinions and other musings) praising the work of these teams on the victorious Saturday. You can view the post here.

"Just a typical Saturday around these parts!! @OleMiss," Kiffin wrote.

Of course, Kiffin's comment is more layered than just referring to the events of March 2. His football team had its fair share of these "typical Saturdays" in the fall, finishing with an 11-2 record and a win in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl over Penn State.

That record gave Ole Miss its first 11-win season in program history, and it opened the door for a potentially-special run in 2024 with the expansion of the College Football Playoff to include 12 teams.

If Kiffin has his way, this trend of good Saturdays won't stop when the academic year ends. He wants to see it continue into the fall semester as well, and his football team would be all the better because of it.
