New Rebel DB Target Morgan: 'I Love Ole Miss'

Class of 2024 secondary prospect from Alabama adds Rebel football offer Wednesday

Phenix City (Ala.) Central High School is among the most prevalent at college football prospect production in the state of Alabama. It means SEC programs make the border city a frequent stop while on the trail, calling for early momentum for obvious targets as well as opportunities for late risers to emerge.

Rydarrius 'Red' Morgan is on the latter end of that spectrum, but the momentum is picking up in a hurry. The class of 2024 safety prospect has recently reeled in four SEC offers, with Ole Miss standing as the latest to come in on Wednesday.

"I got on the phone with Coach (Wes) Neighbors and he said he loves the way I play and come down and hit," Morgan told The Grove Report. "I’ve never been up there but I will for sure be visiting."

The safety projection, listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds and part of a 2022 secondary including blue-chip Georgia signee AJ Harris, admits there has long been an Ole Miss allure to him.

Now that the offer is in, Morgan expects the relationship and familiarity on each side to increase quickly.

"They probably have one of the highest chances for me now," he said. "I love Ole Miss. How could you not want to play for Coach Kiffin?

"I don't know, it's just honestly something about Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin."

Mississippi State, Missouri and Vanderbilt have also offered Morgan, among SEC programs. West Virginia, Georgia Tech and Cincinnati have also recently jumped in on the emerging safety prospect.

As a junior, he helped the Red Devils to a 10 win season in Alabama's highest prep classification, 7A.
