Ole Miss Target Caleb Odom Impressed With Rebels' Receiver Development History

The Georgia prep product recently spoke about his relationship with Rebels coaches and how he views Ole Miss down the stretch.

With a 6-foot-6 frame weighing in at 215 pounds, where does Carrollton (Ga.) High School's four-star prospect Caleb Odom see himself playing on the field? Wherever will give him the most playing time.

Odom has spent time at X-receiver in his high school days, but some schools are recruiting him at the H-back position (or a similar spot) once his prep days have concluded. Does that bother him? Not at all. In fact, he sees his skillset as suited to either position.

Recently, Odom caught up with Brooks Austin of FanNation on SI where he discussed his recruitment, specifically his feelings towards the Ole Miss Rebels.

"To be honest, I see myself as being able to do both [positions]," Odom said. "Wherever I get the most playing time and can fit in, honestly. Wherever I can see myself on the field a lot."

The pass catcher says that he has held plentiful conversations with wide receivers coach Derrick Nix and head coach Lane Kiffin, and his relationship with the staff and the school has only improved. It helps, of course, that Ole Miss has a history of putting wide receivers in the NFL.

"It's been great talking to Coach Nix and Coach Kiffin," Odom said. "Just knowing how they want to use me is really important to me. What they've done with big receivers like DK Metcalf, AJ Brown, Elijah Moore, that's an eye-opener, really. You know that they can do the same thing with you.

"That's what stands out to me about Ole Miss, right now."

Odom has yet to make an official pledge, but he holds offers (besides Ole Miss) from Miami (Fla.), Alabama, Tennessee, Penn State and others as he enters his senior season.
