2024 Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe running back Christian Clark took a big step in his recruitment on Thursday.

The 6-foot, 205-pound back placed Oregon in his top five schools. Florida State, Alabama, Texas and Georgia also made the cut.

Clark is rated a four-star (0.9094) recruit by the 247sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 278 player nationally, the No. 22 running back and the No. 3 recruit in Arizona this cycle.

The talented ball carrier has a number of official visits scheduled this month, including trips to Florida State (June 2-4), Texas (June 16-18), Georgia (June 23-25) and Oregon (June 9-11).

Clark last visited Eugene in April and continues to be one of Carlos Locklyn's top targets in the 2024 cycle. Other running backs that have his attention include Nate Frazier (Santa Ana, CA), Jason Brown Jr. (Seattle, WA) and Da'Jaun Riggs (Washington, D.C.)

The Ducks already have solid momentum recruiting Clark's home state of Arizona this cycle, landing verbal commitments from Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope quarterback Luke Moga as well as Yuma (Ariz.) Catholic edge rusher Jaxson Jones. They're also heavily recruiting five-star Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic edge rusher Elijah Rushing, who will take his official visit with the Ducks on June 16.

With Bucky Irving and Noah Whittington possibly eying the 2024 NFL Draft following this upcoming season, it could be in the Ducks' best interest to take two running backs this recruiting cycle.
