Marquette Transfer Greg Elliot Sets Visit With Pitt

A sharpshooting transfer candidate from Marquette scheduled an official visit with the Pittsburgh Panthers.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Panthers head coach Jeff Capel is heavily involved in the recruitment of Marquette transfer Greg Elliot, who has scheduled an official visit to Pittsburgh for next weekend, according to a report from Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Elliot is a 6-foot-3 guard from Detroit, Michigan that played for four years under head coaches Steve Wojciechowski and Shaka Smart. This past season was his best to date. Despite averaging a career-low in minutes, he posted personal best averages in points (7), free throw percentage (89%) and 3-point attempts (3.1), while still maintaining a 39% clip from distance.

Elliot's skill set is desperately needed for a Pitt program that has lacked shooting ever since Capel's first year. The Panthers lost sharp-shooting guard Ithiel Horton, who transferred to UCF.

The Panthers have three open scholarships remaining and hope that Elliot will fill one of them.
