Son Of Former Steelers Great Picks Up Pitt Offer

Ike Taylor's son Ivan announced on Thursday that Pitt offered him a scholarship.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers, roommates with the Pittsburgh Steelers on the South Side and at Heinz Field, are trying to strengthen ties to the Steel City's professional football team. On Thursday, they extended a scholarship offer to Ivan Taylor, the son of former Steelers great Ike Taylor.

Taylor is an unranked 2025 prospect from Winter Gardens, Florida and already holds offers from Ole Miss and Michigan.

His father spent 12 years playing for the Steelers alongside Troy Polamalu, amassing more than 500 career tackles and 14 interceptions. He played in three Super Bowls and won two in 2005 and 2008.
