Pitt Signee Jaland Lowe Wins Guy V. Lewis Award

More postseason accolades continue to roll in for the Pitt Panthers' highest-rated signee.

PITTSBURGH -- Jaland Lowe's final season of high school basketball is coming to a strong close. The Pitt Panthers' highest-rated signee in their top-25 ranked 2023 recruiting class was announced as the winner of the Guy V. Lewis Award, one of the highest honors a basketball player in his hometown of Houston, Texas. 

Lowe averaged 27.0 points per game this season while leading Fort Bend Marshall High School to a 35-4 record, a finals appearance in 5A Region 3, and a No. 3 ranking in the state of Texas. He finished his three-year career with the Buffalos with over 2,000 points.

The Guy V. Lewis Award is given annually to the top high school player in the Greater Houston area. Past winners include NBA and college stars like Rasheed Sulaimon, Aaron Harrison, Justin Winslow, De'Aaron Fox and Quinten Grimes.
