Pitt QB Target Trever Jackson Impressing at Elite 11 Finals

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Not long after concluding his official visit with the Pitt Panthers, four-star quarterback Trever Jackson flew across the country to Los Angeles, where he has spent the past week competing with some of the top high school prospects in the country at the Elite 11 Finals.
And one of Pitt's top remaining priorities remaining in the class of 2024, who happens to be one of the lowest-rated recruits at the event, is outplaying his ranking among the four and five-star players in attendance.
Jackson kicked off his week in Los Angeles by winning the Rail Shot Challenge, throwing with a level of power and precision that impressed spectators in attendance.

"Even in the measurement circuit before the workout began, the other quarterbacks were taken aback by the power with which Jackson spun it to open up his evening," Rivals' Adam Gorney and John Garcia Jr. wrote. "He took something off the ball as needed as the night wore on and looked as comfortable as any passer regardless of situation. Jackson's accuracy and execution peaked against quite literally everyone else, including reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, in winning the rail shot competition when the pressure was on."
Jackson also told Rivals that he is considering Pitt, Missouri and Miami as the primary contenders to land his commitment as his recruitment hits the home stretch. He doesn't intend on staying uncommitted for much longer.
Despite not doing enough to crack the top 11 rankings after day one, Jackson responded on day two, earning a tie for fifth in the Pro Day competition with three-star Nebraska commit Daniel Kaelin and three-star Colorado commit Danny O'Neil after throwing 15 accurate balls in 20 attempts.

Though the consensus is that Jackson is not as polished as some of the other quarterbacks in attendance, his physical traits are outstanding. Jackson led the event with a 95 Ball Score, which is a measure of velocity against release time. And seeing as 2022 was his first season as a full-time starter at West Orange High School, scouts believe he is still in the very early stages of his development.
The @breakawaydata Ball Score combines a QBs average velocity (MPH) and average release time (seconds) from 12 throws made at the BreakAway station. The higher the score, the faster and quicker the ball is delivered. Top 10 #Elite11 Finals B/A Ball Scores from Wednesday are here! pic.twitter.com/UVxshGR07G

Rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN and On3, and a three-star recruit by ESPN and Rivals, Jackson is among the top 20 of quarterback prospects in his class with room to grow.
