PITTSBURGH -- With the 2022 season over, the Pitt Panthers are well into the portion of their calendar dedicated to recruiting. Fresh off a dramatic win in the Sun Bowl, Pitt is hitting the recruiting trail hard.

7:00 AM

Three-star Pitt offensive line signee Tai Ray is already on campus but he's still earning praise for his play in high school. The imposing 6'7, 310-pound tackle was named a first-team all-state player in Florida's 4M division. 

6:30 AM

Pitt target Peter Pesansky, a 6'3 defensive end from Tampa, Florida, has earned four-star distinction from Rivals. Seven ACC schools - including the Panthers - have extended offers and Notre Dame has shown interest.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed. His work at The Pitt News has won awards from the Pennsylvania News Media Association and Associated College Press.  During the spring and summer of 2021, Stephen interned for Pittsburgh Sports Now, covering baseball in western Pennsylvania.
