Sincere Edwards Decommits, Names Pitt in Top Five

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will have a chance to steal a four-star defensive lineman away from another program and add them to an already impressive 2024 recruiting class.
Sincere Edwards, a four-star edge defender from Apopka, Florida by way of Wekiva High School, has decommitted from UCF, wh landed his verbal pledge last August, and included Pitt in a top five alongside the Knights, South Florida, Maryland and Penn State.

Edwards visited Pitt unofficially in April and almost immediately scheduled a trip back to Pittsburgh for his official visit, which is this weekend.
He hasn't been shy about fielding offers from other schools in the process. Since giving a verbal pledge to the Knights, Edwards has added offers from Colorado, Maryland, Duke, Georgia Tech and Penn State and visited Florida, Texas and Kentucky, in addition to UCF and Pitt.
As a junior at Wekiva High School in Apopka, Florida, Edwards recorded 78 tackles (48 solo), 27 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and recovered two fumbles.
The 6'1 and 250-pound edge rusher is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals and three-star recruit by ESPN, 247Sports and On3. He's ranked as high as the No. 48 player in the state and No. 19 defensive lineman in the class. of 2024 (Rivals)
