WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The No. 3-ranked Purdue basketball team returns home after losing three of its last four games and looks to bounce back with a matchup against Ohio State on Sunday at Mackey Arena. 

The game marks the start of a crucial stretch for the Boilermakers, who control their own destiny atop the Big Ten standings with a one-game lead despite recent struggles on the road. The team has won its last five games at home by an average margin of 14.2 points per contest.

3:01 p.m. ET, FINAL — Purdue 82, Ohio State 55

The Boilermakers got 32 points from its bench, and Zach Edey led all scorers with 26 to go along with 11 rebounds. 

3:00 p.m. ET — Trey Kaufman-Renn gets into double figures with a one-handed slam off a feed from Carsen Barrett. 

2:57 p.m. ET — David Jenkins Jr. drills another 3-pointer. Purdue has 26 points from its bench and leads 76-47 with 2:18 left to play. The Boilermakers bring three walk-ons into the game alongside Brian Waddell to play alongside Trey Kaufman-Renn. 

2:50 p.m. ET — Braden Smith makes an unbelievable pass to the right corner, finding Brandon Newman for a 3-pointer. Purdue is 6-of-14 from deep, including 4-of-6 in the second half. 

2:49 p.m. ET — Trey Kaufman-Renn looks much more confident in the offensive half than in recent weeks. He gets a quick floater to fall and is now up to nine points off the bench. 

2:42 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Purdue has a 62-43 advantage over Ohio State with 7:57 left to go. Everyone is getting a little piece of the action as seven different players have scored after halftime. Zach Edey has 10 points in the second half, 26 total. 

2:40 p.m. ET — David Jenkins Jr. just simply doesn't miss when shooting at the end of the shot clock. He absolutely drills a contested 3-pointer to give Purdue a 62-41 lead. It's the team's largest lead of the game. 

2:39 p.m. ET — Brice Sensabaugh drills a 3-pointer and is fouled, but he can't connect on the ensuing free throw attempt. 

2:38 p.m. ET — A nice move down low from Trey Kaufman-Renn frees up space for a routine shot in the paint. He has six points now off the bench, which included four points from the foul line. 

2:30 p.m. ET — Ohio State calls a timeout after Zach Edey puts in another shot. Chris Holtmann and the players are arguing for offensive fouls as Edey creates separation down low. He'll need to refrain from using elbows to swing his body in a favorable position. 

2:29 p.m. ET — Zach Edey is on pace for a monster game this afternoon. He already has 20 points and 11 rebounds with 12:47 still to play. 

2:26 p.m. ET — Fletcher Loyer pokes the ball free during a scramble for the ball, getting an easy layup on the other end of the floor. 

2:21 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Purdue is up 47-33 over Ohio State with 15:47 to play. Both teams are 14-of-32 from the field, but the Boilermakers are dominating the glass and getting to the foul line at a much higher rate. They have 11 offensive rebounds and 12 second-chance points. 

2:15 p.m. ET — Ohio State calls for a timeout as Purdue's lead is up to 14 points in the opening minutes of the second half. The Boilermakers have four offensive rebounds since the break. 

2:12 p.m. ET — Mason Gillis finds an open Ethan Morton at the 3-point line, and he drills the shot to open the second half. Purdue's lead extends to 12 points, its largest of the game so far. 

1:55 p.m. ET, HALFTIME — David Jenkins Jr. gets a last-second chance from the 3-point line that rattles around the rim before Zach Edey reaches up to put the ball through the basket. Purdue leads Ohio State 38-29 at halftime, and Edey leads the way with 16 points. 

1:51 p.m. ET — Owen Spencer called for his fourth foul of the game. Still 57.4 seconds to play in the first half. Zach Edey gets one of his two free throws to fall. 

1:46 p.m. ET — Ohio State's leading scorer Brice Sensabaugh picks up his third foul with more than three minutes left before halftime. The Buckeyes have 12 fouls in the first half, and the Boilermakers are now 14-of-17 from the line. 

1:42 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Purdue leads Ohio State 34-25 with 3:17 left to go before halftime. Zach Edey has a game-high 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go along with three rebounds and three blocks. 

1:41 p.m. ET — Another Ohio State foul was called in this first half, this time charged to Owen Spencer. He has three fouls already before halftime. 

1:39 p.m. ET — Zach Edey has 10 points already in the first half on 5-of-8 shooting. Purdue's lead is up to 11, its largest of the game, with 5:33 left before halftime. 

1:36 p.m. ET — Zach Edey now with three blocks in the first half. He's done a great job helping in defense and it's helped Purdue get into a rhythm offensively. 

1:33 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Brandon Newman buries a 3-pointer for Purdue in the face of an Ohio State defender. The Boilermakers have a 26-18 lead with 7:19 before the break. Newman tried to get back-to-back shots to fall, but he air-balled his next attempt. 

1:26 p.m. ET — Seven fouls so far for Ohio State in the first half, and Purdue is in the bonus with more than 10 minutes to play. Trey Kaufman-Renn knocks down both free throws, and the team is now 6-of-6 from the line. 

1:20 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Purdue is playing with a great pace offensively, finding open teammates and attacking the rim. The Boilermakers lead the Buckeyes 16-14 with 11:34 left before halftime. 

Zach Edey has eight points on 4-of-7 shooting so far. Every basket for Purdue has been assisted. 

1:18 p.m. ET — After a 12-2 run by Purdue, Sean McNeil enters the game and hits back-to-back shots for Ohio State. But Zach Edey gets a one-on-one opportunity on the next possession and spun free for an emphatic slam dunk. 

1:12 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Purdue finds its first lead of the game, going ahead 12-10 as Zach Edey scores inside the paint. Fletcher Loyer drilled a corner 3-pointer on the previous possession. 

Ohio State can't get a shot off before the shot clock expires on the next trip down the floor. The Boilermakers have made their last three shots with 14:50 still to play before halftime. 

1:10 p.m. ET — Great ball movement by Purdue after Ohio State rushes Zach Edey with a double team. Braden Smith starts the reversal and Ethan Morton eventually knocks down an open 3-pointer. He had 10 points in the team's first meeting with the Buckeyes and was 2-of-7 from deep. 

1:09 p.m. ET — Zach Edey draws another foul underneath the basket as Eugene Brown throws his arms into Edey's back. 

1:07 p.m. ET — Play is stopped for a moment as Mason Gillis heads to the sideline to get blood cleaned from his elbow. He fell to the floor after being fouled on a shot attempt, but he sinks both free throws. 

1:05 p.m. ET — The crowd is ready to dig into the officials all afternoon long. Zach Edey gets a basket inside the paint to give Purdue its first basket of the game. But on the other end of the floor, Eugene Brown III drills a 3-pointer to make it an 8-2 game early on. 

Tipoff — Ohio State wins the tip, and Justice Sueing gets a midrange pull-up jumper to fall from the elbow. Purdue turns the ball over twice in the opening minute against the press, leading to a pair of opportunities at the rim for the Buckeyes.
