Lamont Paris and Gamecocks on the Bubble in Latest Men's Bracketology

South Carolina Men's basketball program still sits on the bubble of the NCAA tournament in Joe Lunardi recent bracketology.

This season for Lamont Paris and the Gamecocks has been better than expected thus far, with South Carolina sitting at 14-3 on the season and 2-2 in SEC play. While plenty of basketball is left in the regular season, Joe Lunardi still has the Gamecocks within reaching distance of an NCAA bid, which would be the first bid since 2017.

Joe Lunardi has the Gamecocks sitting on the bubble as one of the last four alongside Cincinnati, Wake Forest, and Kansas State. If Lunardi's projections hold up, South Carolina and Coach Paris will play in an 11th overall seed play in game. They would currently be in the Pittsburgh Regional, where Duke would be the top team, and South Carolina would join them along with Utah State and Oakland, with Houston being the number 1 seed in the Los Angeles Regional.

While it would be a tremendous accomplishment for coach Lamont Paris to get to the tournament in only his second year of coaching for the Gamecocks after winning only 11 games, He and the team know the work has just begun, and they will need to continue to improve every day. They are starting with Arkansas this afternoon.
