South Carolina's Women's Basketball team had some offensive struggles in their first-round matchup against the Norfolk State Spartans. Still, they overcame them with their depth, team defense, and height advantage in the frontcourt to win comfortably. Now, Dawn Staley and her team are set to play their final game of the season in the friendly confines of the Colonial Life Arena against the South Florida Bulls, the eighth seed in their regional who escaped the first round with a close overtime win against Marquette.

South Florida as a team is no stranger to SEC competition, as they won both matchups against respective conference members Alabama and Arkansas in the regular season. The Bulls are a team that runs an extremely short rotation, as only seven players average more than 10.6 minutes per game, but it's a strategy that's worked well for them. This is best evidenced by the production from their star trio of Elena Tsineke, Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu, and Sammie Puisis, who combined for an average stat-line of 50.4 points, 5.6 assists, and 20.3 rebounds per game.

The individual matchup to pay close attention to in this contest is the matchup between Aliyah Boston and Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu, as Mendjiadeu is one of just five players in women's college basketball this season to have secured more double-doubles than Aliyah Boston. The only other time this has taken place this season was when Angel Reese and Boston squared off in the highly anticipated matchup between the Gamecocks and the LSU Tigers back in mid-February. If that game's any indication, Aliyah won't be phased by the task at hand and, combined with Kamilla Cardoso's presence, should be able to stand her ground on both ends of the floor.

Other than stopping Dulcy, the South Florida Bulls don't rank in the Top 50 in the majority of statistical categories on both ends of the floor, so while Boston and the Gamecocks shouldn't necessarily put all their eggs in one basket, if they can stonewall the Bulls' frontcourt, they should move onto the Sweet Sixteen.
