Heading into Sunday's matchup, Dawn Staley's Gamecocks were taking on a Texas A&M team that was ranked third in the country in field goal percentage defense, holding their opponents to 29.3 percent shooting from the floor. That didn't matter much for South Carolina, who made work of the Aggies in Reed Arena, specifically on the offensive end.

The South Carolina Gamecocks started the game on fire, scoring the game's first 15 points, and making seven of their first eight shots from the floor. They did it in every which way imaginable, with Kamilla Cardoso getting the best of Aggies' center Lauren Ware early, Te-Hina Paopao displaying her shooting prowess and Raven Johnson orchestrating the offense like the floor general she's proven herself to be this season.

While Texas A&M was able to eventually start matching the Gamecocks with some buckets of their own, Staley's squad was able to extend their sizeable lead right before halftime. In the final 3:37 of the second quarter, Carolina went on a 14-2 run that gave them a remarkable 31-point advantage going to the locker room.

In the second half, Dawn was able to empty the bench before the end of the third quarter, and two players in particular, MiLaysia Fulwiley and Sania Feagin, took full advantage of their opportunities. Feagin was phenomenal today in terms of her off-ball positioning near the basket and then her subsequent touch on her shots, leading to a career high 15 points for the junior from Georgia.

Fulwiley, who has had her expected freshman-like ups and downs in terms in consistency this season, flashed her offensive ability in a variety of ways: shooting from behind the arc, driving the lane like a race car, and serving up assists to her teammates as well. The Gamecocks wound up winning the contest, and is set for a top-flight showdown with the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge on Thursday night.
