Monday night senior quarteback Jake Bentley took to Twitter to announce he will transfer to the University of Utah.

Last week Bentley announced in a Twitter post that after four years at USC he would play his final season elsewhere.

"The past 3 1/2 years have been incredible. I have met lifelong friends and made memories that I will never forget," the post read. "However at this time, I believe that it is in my best interest to graduate on December 16th and transfer to play my final year of eligibility.”

Bentley had his senior season cut short due to a foot injury during the first game of the season.

During his four years at USC, Bentley appeared in 34 games. He completed passed for a total of 7,527 yards with a 62.5 percent completion rate, 55 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.

Utah is currently coming off an 11-2 season in which one of the two losses was in the Pac-12 title game. The Utes came dangerously close to making the College Football playoffs.

Bentley is set to graduate Dec. 16 and will be graduate transfer and therefore eligible to play immediately.

He'll be competing with sophomore Jason Shelley, who in 2018 stepped in for an injured Tyler Huntley and went 98-of-168 for 1,162 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. Shelley attempted just 11 passes this year while Huntley went on to throw for 2,966 yards with 18 touchdowns and four interceptions. Huntley is a finalist for the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year award
