Former South Carolina Gamecock standout D.J. Wonnum is on the verge of signing a two-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. The defensive end, who was selected in the fourth round as the 117th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has spent the initial years of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings.

During his tenure with the Vikings, Wonnum has proven to be a valuable asset on defense. He has accumulated 171 tackles, 23 sacks, and three forced fumbles. These statistics reflect Wonnum's capacity to disrupt offenses and his knack for pressuring the quarterback, showcasing his development into a formidable pass rusher in the league.
