Jonathan Paylor Narrows Recruitment
South Carolina is in the game for many top prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle, and one of those prospects is prominent North Carolina wideout Jonathan Paylor.
Paylor is an electrifying playmaker for Hugh M Cummings high school in Burlington, NC, serving as a versatile touchdown machine that plays wide receiver, running back, or as a return specialist for the Cavaliers, which has led to Jonathan receiving interest from some of the best programs college football has to offer.
Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks are one program that has stuck out to Paylor in the process, with the rising high school senior going as far as naming the Gamecocks his leader a couple of weeks back, then following that up shortly afterward with setting up plans to make Columbia one of his five official visits.
Jonathan is getting a better idea of what program he wants to play for and is ready for the next stage of his recruitment, and he validated this by releasing his top 8 list on Twitter yesterday evening.
Based on his top list, it's clear that Paylor is primarily interested in remaining close to home wherever he goes to school and is also intrigued by the idea of playing in what's objectively viewed as the best conference in all of college football in the SEC, two immeasurable qualities that South Carolina can offer.
