South Carolina Sees Several 2024 Opponents Listed In ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25

South Carolina's football team already knew that they had a tough slate this coming season, and ESPN's way-too-early Top 25 list confirms that.

While, as the list implies, it is too early to be sure who will be ranked where, ESPN has taken a crack at who the Top 25 teams will be in college football in 2024. As the ranking indicates, the South Carolina Gamecocks, led by head coach Shane Beamer, will deal with another gauntlet of a schedule, as they'll be facing eight Top 25 teams this Fall.

The eight Carolina opponents listed are:

Ole Miss - 6th

Missouri - 7th

Alabama - 9th

LSU - 12th

Oklahoma - 14th

Clemson - 19th

Kentucky - 23rd

Texas A&M - 25th

The majority of this list is comprised of top 15 teams, which is rather insane to think about. Some teams don't even play or see five ranked teams within a single season, and the Gamecocks are slated to face just five in the top 15. Carolina will be the home team in four of these eight games, hosting LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Missouri, while heading to Kentucky, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Clemson.

The most brutal stretch of those games sees South Carolina playing Ole Miss at home, then traveling to Alabama and Oklahoma in the first three weeks of October. The Gamecocks will have to navigate yet another challenging schedule if they want to get back to the postseason this next Winter.
