Early National Signing Day Capsule: Blake Franks

South Carolina's football program has officially received a national letter of intent from Blake Franks.

The 2024 offensive line class for South Carolina's Football program has been dubbed 'The Great Wall of Carolina', and Greenville's own Blake Franks is one of the pieces that will comprise that wall in 2024. Let's take a look at Franks profile as he gets ready to embark on his college football career:

Prospect: Blake Franks

School: Greenville High School (Greenville, SC)

Projected Position: Left Guard

Size: 6'5, 325 pounds

Athleticism: Few guys at Blake's size can move as quickly laterally on pull blocks as he does. This will also translate well to the Gamecocks zone-blocking run scheme they implemented in 2023

Instincts: Always knows when the play is still ongoing, and can tell through opposing defenders movements whether or not the ballcarrier is getting ready to run behind him in a certain area.

Bottom Line: Franks will have to compete at a high level this coming offseason to earn playing time in 2024, but he has all the prerequisite skills you look for in a potential multi-year starter.
