Channing Goodwin Includes Gamecocks In Top 7

South Carolina's Football program has made the top seven list for Channing Goodwin, a 2024 WR out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

South Carolina has been doing a tremendous job targeting receiving talent this off-season. The additions of Nyckoles Harbor, Mazeo Bennett, and Michael Smith to the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes were significant steps for the team, but they are not done. The team made the top seven for Channing Gooden, a 2024 wide receiver who released his narrowed list on Wednesday afternoon.

Goodwin, a Charlotte native, is just a three-star but holds some prominent offers from schools such as Kentucky, Michigan, and Georgia Tech. The 14th-ranked player in North Carolina has plenty of football talent in his gene pool. His dad, Jonathan Goodwin, was an offensive lineman at Michigan and went on to get drafted in the fifth round in the NFL Draft and win a Super Bowl.

The 6-1 receiver was selected as a freshman All-American back in 2020 and has continued to improve in his talents at receiver. The three-sport athlete is trending towards Michigan, but many are still uncertain of his future plans.

Goodwin's final seven include South Carolina, Michigan, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. It will be a dogfight for the receiver between the various teams still in contention for his signature.
