The cornerstone of their 2024 recruiting class and possibly the future of Stanford's football program is four-star quarterback Elijah Brown.

The Mater Dei quarterback has some lofty expectations surrounding him, and there is also a hope that he brings some of his high school teammates from the perennial power with him. Something Stanford is close to doing when it comes to four-star corner Chuck McDonald III, who announced his top 10 schools on social media on Friday.

Joining Stanford as finalists was a truly elite group of programs with schools like Oregon, Alabama, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Michigan among others. According to 247Sports' Composite Rankings, McDonald ranks as the No. 122 player in the nation, the No. 17 corner, and the No. 12 player in the state of California. According to Rivals' Ben Parker, McDonald took a trip to Palo Alto to take in Stanford's game against Cal.

This past season as a part of Mater Dei's state title team, McDonald recorded a career-high 34 total tackles and also added his first career pick.

Stanford's secondary is in the process of being completely revamped after losing every starter and reserve from the 2022 season, and McDonald is someone who could come in right away and make an impact.
