Former Stanford tight end Dalton Schultz inks new deal with Houston Texans

After spending the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys, tight end Dalton Schultz signed with the Houston Texans prior to this past season.

It was just a one-year deal that would allow him to play his way into a bigger contract, which as we learned on Tuesday, he got. According to a report by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, he and the Texans agreed on a three-year, $36M contract that will see $23.5M of it fully guaranteed.

This past season, Schultz emerged as one of the more reliable targets for rookie sensation CJ Stroud, racking up 59 catches for 635 yards and five touchdowns through 15 games.

Over the span of his career, he's played in 90 games, and caught 270 passes for 2,757 yards with 22 TDs. He was a fourth-round pick out of Stanford back in 2018.
