Southern California powerhouse Mater Dei has been pumping out elite quarterbacks left and right, as names like Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley, JT Daniels, and most recently Bryce Young have all hailed out of the high school located in Santa Ana, California.

All signs are pointing to 2024 quarterback Elijah Brown being the next great Mater Dei quarterback, as the four-star quarterback has compiled an impressive 29-1 record as the starter, with his lone loss coming in the Southern Section Division 1 championship football game against St. John John Bosco this past season.

Brown's recruitment is one to watch out for, as unlike the 2023 class the class of 2024 is not nearly as deep, meaning the top few quarterbacks will be extremely hot commodities. Brown chatted with Ducks Digest's Max Torres on Sunday following the conclusion of the Elite 11 camp in Los Angeles, which saw some of the best signal callers competing against one another.

On top of discussing how the day went, Brown also opened up about his recruitment. He told Torres that he hopes to have a top five compiled by the end of spring, and even divulged the programs that are currently pushing the hardest for him saying:

"I'm hearing from (U)SC, UCLA, a little bit of Ohio State, ASU definitely, Stanford. Those are probably the top five right now."

He continued talking about Stanford and his relationship with now Washington Commanders quarterback coach Tavita Pritchard, who was one of the couple staffers Troy Taylor retained from David Shaw's staff saying:

Coach Tavita (Pritchard) previously was a QB coach who recruited me from there," Brown said. "Before he left to the NFL he kind of told them about me and they took a liking to me so that's kind how I kind of got in with that."

Brown also confirmed that he hopes to be committed at or around the beginning of his senior season.

He ranks as the No. 33 player in the country, No. 3 quarterback, and the No. 3 player in the state of California.
