Stanford lands commitment from 2024 running back Cole Tabb

The Florida recruit marks the fifth commitment this week for Stanford

Out West, the awakening of what can only be considered a sleeping giant in Stanford's football program is beginning to awake.

With the new staff led by former Sacramento State head coach Troy Taylor at the helm, the Cardinal are taking a brand new approach to recruiting. They are much more aggressive on the recruiting trail, and look to be assembling a very strong class of 2024 before the season even starts.

After an official visit weekend that saw them host 17 recruits, the Cardinal reportedly landed 10 commitments. Five of them have now publicly announced their commitment to Stanford, with the latest being Florida running back Cole Tabb.

The Choctawhatchee High School product had a fantastic season this past year running for over 2,400 yards on 7.5 yards per carry, while also racking up 24 touchdowns. He averaged 185 yards rushing per game, and offers the Cardinal some speed and elusiveness out of the backfield. Tabb also grabbed 20 catches this past season and added two receiving touchdowns.

According to 247Sports, he ranks as the No. 844 player in the country, No. 64 running back, and the No. 117 player in the state of Florida.

He chose Stanford over programs such as Texas A&M, Syracuse, and Utah among others. With the addition of Tabb and defensive back Jaylen Sumlin who committed yesterday to their class, the Cardinal should see their 2024 class ranking jump from No. 33 to No. 28 in the country jumping programs such as Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
