The Oaks Christian (CA) product caught 33 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns this past season, while also show casing that he is a weapon when it comes to special teams. Aside from being a highly touted receiver, Farrell also doubles as one of the fastest players in the country.
In a interview with 247Sports, Farrell broke down why he chose Stanford over programs like Oregon where he was projected to commit saying:
There were a lot of reasons why I committed to Stanford,” Farrell said. “The biggest reasons were the new coaching staff and the academics. When it comes to just school, taking football out of the equation, there’s nothing better than Stanford. The school really speaks for itself.”
He continued saying:
“The new staff is putting together something new and electric,” Farrell said. “The way things are flowing there and how the program is being run is very impressive. Everything is fast and explosive. It just fits me.
Stanford also had the help of Bryce Farrell as a recruiter, as the junior wideout is the older brother of Chase. However, even despite the relationship with his brother it was his recent unofficial visit to Stanford that sealed the deal as Farrell explained:
"After visiting a few weeks ago it just felt like home,” Farrell said. “I’ve been thinking on it for these past few weeks and just thought “why wait if it feels right?”
He continued saying
“If I’m being honest, it just felt perfect. The school being what it is and the new staff being there, it all just felt right for me.”
As it stands right now, Stanford holds two commits in the class of 2024. Their class currently comes in at the No. 45 class in the country.
