On day two of the MLB Draft the Cardinal saw seven players get drafted, with three of them going in the eighth round.

The first player in the eighth round from Stanford to hear his name called was junior first baseman Carter Graham. The slugger was one of the steadiest bats on the team, even compiling a 22-game hitting streak this past season. He was selected by the Cincinnati Reds with the No. 228 pick.

Graham batted an impressive .315 with 15 homers and team-high 77 RBIs while starting all 64 games for the second year in a row. His performance helped him earn Pac-12 All-Conference honors, and he was extremely clutch towards the end of the season during his 22- game hitting streak as he was batting .400, scored 28 runs, hit 10 doubles, hit 10 homers and knocked in 40 RBIs from the span of April 18 to June 2.

The Cardinal will miss his bat in the middle of the lineup.
