Stanford Cardinal WR Elic Ayomanor named one of the top 100 players in all of CFB

In his first year as head coach at Stanford, Troy Taylor inherited one of the best receivers in all of college football who will now be a key piece of the rebuild in Palo Alto.

Canadian pass catcher Elic Ayomanor missed his entire true freshman season due to an injury, so no one had seen him play at the college level. He quickly worked his way up to the depth chart, and through the first few weeks proved he could be a reliable receiver. However, everything changed for Ayomanor and maybe even the trajectory of his career when Stanford headed on up to Boulder to take on Deion Sanders' Colorado squad.

With the Cardinal down 29-0 at the half and Ayomanor held catchless in the first half, he exploded in the second half and led Stanford to an absurd overtime comeback win. He recorded 13 catches for 294 yards and three scores, one of which he pinned to the helmet of top corner Travis Hunter. This paved the way for an excellent season down the stretch, as he finished the year with 62 catches for 1,013 yards and six scores. He also put the country on notice, and established himself as one of the best players in college football which is something we saw in CBS Sports' top 100 player rankings.

CBS Sports' Blake Brockermeyer ranked the top 100 players, and tabbed Ayomanor as the No. 63 player in college football.

With Stanford gaining more experience, the offense should be even better in 2024. If the quarterback play improves even in the slightest, Ayomanor will certainly have a chance to establish himself as the best receiver in the ACC.
