JuJu Watkins Exploded For 51 Points In USC's Upset Win Over Stanford

The Stanford Cardinal found themselves on the wrong side of a historic scoring night for USC freshman JuJu Watkins.

She scored the most points of the college basketball season, dropping 51 points on a Stanford team that is typically known for their lockdown defense. Stanford ended up losing 67-58 but did have their chances late, with the game even being separated by just two points with a little over two minutes.

Watkins scored in every way imaginable, hitting six threes and also adding 17 points at the free-throw line.

The Cardinal were ice cold on offense, shooting 31.6% from the field as a team, and making just 4-of-15 threes (26.7%). This will be the only time they take on USC in the regular season, but it's safe to say that if they meet again in the Pac-12 Tournament they may want to consider double or even triple-teaming Watkins.

Stanford will need to turn the page quickly, as No. 7 UCLA comes to town on Sunday, and surely former Stanford forward Lauren Betts will be hoping to take it to her former team.
