Fresh off of a blowout victory over Sacred Heart in the opening round, the No. 1 seed Stanford Cardinal took on No. 8 Ole Miss with a trip to the Sweet Sixteen on the line.

From the jump it was a tough battle as after the game being tied 6-6, Stanford would trail until there was 1:16 remaining in the game. Led by an offense and defensive surge from Cameron Brink, Stanford was able to tie it late but the Cardinal were unable to overcome a strong Ole Miss defense.

The Rebels were able to limit anyone not named Cameron Brink or Haley Jones from doing much offensively and even those two didn't have the most efficient of nights, combining for 36 points on 37% shooting. It was evident that Stanford wanted to force the issue with those two down the stretch, but Ole Miss often doubled them and made life difficult.

There were three inbounding mishaps in the final minutes of the game for Stanford, and each one of them led to a turnover with a chance to cut the lead.

The loss ends Stanford's season, and also unfortunately marks the end of Brink and Jones' time playing together in Palo Alto as Jones is a senior. Ole Miss advances to Seattle where they will take on the winner of No. 5 Louisville and No. 4 Texas.
