Syracuse Women’s Basketball Sweeps Boston College

The Orange close out in the fourth quarter to win 79-72.

Syracuse women’s basketball sweeps this season’s series over Boston College with Sunday's 79-72 win, making it Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack’s first season sweep over an ACC opponent.

Although the Eagles scored first, the Orange scored 11-straight in the first minutes of the game. The Eagles then scored 13 in a row coming out of their timeout before the Orange would find an answer.

With just under a minute to go, Dyaisha Fair became just the second active player in Division I basketball to surpass 2,500 points.

She rounded out the game with 24 points, seven assists, and four rebounds, making it her 24th game of the season scoring in double figures and 13th scoring 20 or more.

By the way, those 24 games?

That’s every game of this season.

The rest of the first half saw Georgia Woolley score 18 of her game’s 20 points. It was her second-straight game scoring 15 or more points, and fourth 20-point game of the season.

Syracuse led 45-30 heading into the half, and would maintain the lead up until the final whistle.

Dariauna Lewis was the third Orange scoring in double figures tonight, having 15 of her own. She was one rebound away from her ninth double-double of the season.

The Eagles still have not won an away game since the beginning of January when they beat North Carolina State 79-71, a score they would be one-shy of being one-point on the wrong side of.

The Orange improved to a 6-7 record in the ACC with five regular season games left to go, and will host 11th-ranked North Carolina for the first time this season on Thursday at 7 p.m. It will serve as Play4Kay and Breast Cancer Awareness night.
