Dodson will have to sit out six games due to a violation of the NFL personal conduct policy, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The linebacker was arrested in May and charged with three misdemeanor counts according to multiple sources.
Following an alleged altercation with his girlfriend, the former Aggie was booked on one count of domestic violence, one charge of disorderly conduct and one charge of damage to property.
Dodson accepted a plea deal and later charges were never pursued by the victim.
The once three-star recruit declared for the NFL Draft following a productive junior campaign. Despite going undrafted, he found a spot on the Bills' 90-man roster. After a productive preseason, Buffalo elected to keep him for the 2019 season.
Dodson finished third on the Aggies with 61 tackles in 2018, and he added six tackles for loss and three pass breakups. His best game came against Mississippi State where he collected a season-high eight tackles. He would collect win tackles and score a 78-yard interception returned for a touchdown in the team's bowl victory over North Carolina State.
Dodson was one of four former Aggies to declare early for the draft. Others included center Erik McCoy, tight end Jace Sternberger and running back Trayveon Williams. Dodson was the only underclassmen from A&M not to be officially drafted.
For his career with the Aggies, the 21-year-old finished with 201 total tackles, six sacks, four interceptions, 11 pass deflections and two touchdowns. Dodson will be eligible for reinstatement against the Washington Redskins on November 3.
